Procedure for Taking and Retaking the UNT 2026 
The regulatory framework of this Regulation is the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 2, 2017 No. 204 “On Approval of the Rules for Conducting the Unified National Testing” (as amended and supplemented as of July 3, 2025).
This Regulation applies to applicants and conditionally admitted AHEU students who did not achieve the threshold score based on UNT results, as well as to those wishing to transfer to another specialty but whose UNT results do not meet the required combination of профиль subjects.
The maximum UNT score is 140 points.

The maximum UNT score for applicants to educational program groups requiring creative preparation is 130 points.

The maximum UNT score for persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including those applying to educational program groups requiring creative preparation (except for applicants to related fields of study предусматривающие shortened study periods), is 110 points.

The maximum UNT score for applicants to educational programs предусматривающие shortened study periods is 70 points.

The maximum UNT score for applicants to educational programs предусматривающие shortened study periods and requiring creative preparation is 70 points.
Deadlines for submitting applications in the установленная form for participation in the UNT and the deadlines for conducting the UNT.
Submission of applications in the установленная form for participation in the UNT is carried out within the following timeframes:

The UNT in paper-based format is conducted within the following periods:

Who it is conducted for:
From December 1 to December 15 of the calendar year — for persons specified in subparagraphs 1), 6), 7), and 8) of paragraph 3 of these Rules*;
From January 20 to February 5 of the calendar year — for persons specified in subparagraphs 1), 6), 7), and 8) of paragraph 3 of these Rules* (tentatively);
1) Students of graduating 11th grades of secondary education institutions applying for admission to higher education institutions (HEIs) on a fee-paying basis at their own request;
6) Persons enrolled in HEIs in full-time, fee-paying programs who did not achieve the threshold score based on UNT results (conditionally admitted to HEIs), whose UNT subject combinations do not meet program requirements, or whose UNT results were annulled — for subsequent admission to HEIs on a fee-paying basis within the calendar year;
7) HEI students enrolled in educational program groups requiring creative preparation who wish to transfer to other educational program groups on a fee-paying basis;
8) HEI students wishing to transfer to educational program groups in the field of education “Pedagogical Sciences” on a fee-paying basis.
From February 1 to February 15 of the calendar year — for persons specified in subparagraphs 1) and 6) of paragraph 3 of these Rules*;
From March 26 to March 31 of the calendar year — for persons specified in subparagraphs 1) and 6) of paragraph 3 of these Rules*;
1) Students of graduating 11th grades of secondary education institutions applying for admission to higher education institutions (HEIs) on a fee-paying basis at their own request;
6) Persons enrolled in HEIs in full-time, fee-paying programs who did not achieve the threshold score based on UNT results, whose UNT subject combinations do not meet program requirements, or whose UNT results were annulled — for subsequent admission to HEIs on a fee-paying basis within the calendar year.
From April 1 to April 30 of the calendar year — for persons specified in subparagraphs 2), 3), 4), and 6) of paragraph 3 of these Rules*;

From April 1 to May 5 of the calendar year — for persons specified in subparagraph 5) of paragraph 3 of these Rules*;
From June 20 to July 5 of the calendar year — for persons specified in subparagraphs 2), 3), 4), 5), and 6) of paragraph 3 of these Rules*;
2) Graduates of secondary education institutions of the current year participating in the competition for the award of an educational grant funded by the republican or local budget, or for admission to higher education institutions (HEIs) on a fee-paying basis, or for study under the state educational order funded by the republican budget at their own request;
3) Graduates of secondary education institutions of previous years, as well as graduates of technical and vocational or post-secondary education institutions, participating in the competition for the award of an educational grant funded by the republican or local budget, or for admission to HEIs on a fee-paying basis at their own request;
4) Graduates of technical and vocational or post-secondary education institutions applying to higher education programs with shortened study periods to participate in the competition for the award of an educational grant funded by the republican or local budget at their own request;
5) Graduates of secondary education institutions who studied abroad, as well as persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and who graduated from foreign educational institutions, participating in the competition for the award of an educational grant funded by the republican or local budget, or for admission to HEIs on a fee-paying basis at their own request;
6) Persons enrolled in HEIs in full-time, fee-paying programs who did not achieve the threshold score based on UNT results, whose UNT subject combinations do not meet program requirements, or whose UNT results were annulled — for subsequent admission to HEIs on a fee-paying basis within the calendar year.
From July 25 to August 1 of the calendar year — for persons specified in subparagraphs 2), 3), 5), 6), 7), and 8) of paragraph 3 of these Rules*.
From August 17 to August 20 of the calendar year — for persons specified in subparagraphs 2), 3), 5), 6), 7), and 8) of paragraph 3 of these Rules*
2) Graduates of secondary education institutions of the current year participating in the competition for the award of an educational grant funded by the republican or local budget, or for admission to higher education institutions (HEIs) on a fee-paying basis, or for study under the state educational order funded by the republican budget at their own request;
3) Graduates of secondary education institutions of previous years, as well as graduates of technical and vocational or post-secondary education institutions, participating in the competition for the award of an educational grant funded by the republican or local budget, or for admission to HEIs on a fee-paying basis at their own request;
